There Education is standard with many schools both primary and secondary, more still with government hospitals such as Kawolo,Nkokojeru and Nagalama.Mukono also has many tourist attractions and among these include mabira forest, moist sem-decidous forest prominent for forest walking along with cycling trails. Once completed in 2011,it will provide 250MW of electric power.The most exciting adventure in jinja is the private sailing club on the shores of Lake Victoria along with the animal sanctuary at Buwenge.Its located 30 kilometers(19miles) north of jinja on the highway to kamuli.Buwenge happens to be the headquarters of jinja district in which the city is located.Originally the golf course was laid out in the mid 1920&#8242;s,it had a prominent rule which had to be followed, if someone played a ball, his or her target was to make sure that the ball rests in a hippo&#8217;s hoof print. The course has a beautiful scenic view of the Nile, lake Victoria as well as the second green which is within a lob wedge of the source of the Nile.Ancient history has it that mahatma Gandhi&#8217;s ashes were pured into the source of the white Nile. More still, there is a small memorial garden at the spot.Jinja also has an active Hindu temple which has a bronze bust of Gandhi. Furthermore, there is a Buddhist Temple.Buvuma Island is located approximately 25 kilometers (16miles) in lake Victoria, its famous for its forest<br />
