In the past, Hoima was part of Bunyoro district, it was entity within the kingdom. later on, it was divided into North Bunyoro and south Bunyoro.Finally Hoima become a district in 1980.Hoima is acknowledged to boarder kibaale in the south, kiboga in the East, masindi in the north-east as well as Lake Albert in the west forming a boarder with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Masaka district is located approximately 37kms away from the Equator close to the south and further lies between 0o-25o south and 34o East. Of late, masaka has been reduced after removing Kooki, Ssesse Island and sembabule from the district. The aim activity carried out in masaka include agriculture, cattle ranching and fishing on lake Victoria. Industries include coffee processing, soft drinks factories, metal works as well as cotton ginning. There are also hotels and guest houses for all kinds of visitors and the facilities are up to the standard.Masaka has a population of about 831,300 people with over 420,000 females as well as 411,300 male, it has approximately 754,00 rural dwellers along with 77,300 urban dwellers that lead to the development of masaka.

Jinja is a city in the eastern part of Uganda and still located on the shores of Lake Victoria, close to the source of the Nile River.Jinja is well known to be the largest metropolitan area in Jinja district. Once completed in 2011,it will provide 250MW of electric power.The most exciting adventure in jinja is the private sailing club on the shores of Lake Victoria along with the animal sanctuary at Buwenge.Its located 30 kilometers(19miles) north of jinja on the highway to kamuli.Buwenge happens to be the headquarters of jinja district in which the city is located.Originally the golf course was laid out in the mid 1920′s,it had a prominent rule which had to be followed, if someone played a ball, his or her target was to make sure that the ball rests in a hippo’s hoof print. The course has a beautiful scenic view of the Nile, lake Victoria as well as the second green which is within a lob wedge of the source of the Nile.Ancient history has it that mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were pured into the source of the white Nile. More still, there is a small memorial garden at the spot.Jinja also has an active Hindu temple which has a bronze bust of Gandhi.
