Mukono district is surrounded by many districts such as jinja in the east, Kayunga in the North, Luwero and wakiso in the west along with Kalangala in the south. The language commonly spoken is luganda.It has a population of about 807,923 people, where by 403,117 are females and 141,990 are males. Agriculture is the overall activity done  and the food crops grown include cassava,simsim and many others. The forest has been known to be a habitant for over 100 species of large moths,butterfly,fauna and over 300 species of birds for example blue swallow, papyrus gonolek,nahan francolin and the purple throated cuckoo.
