The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD), in partnership with the Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) and with financial support from Enabel (Belgium Development Agency), is proud to announce the 3rd Cohort of the Hotel Apprenticeship Training Programme targeting beneficiaries from the Rwenzori and Albertine Sub-regions.
🎯 Programme Overview
This apprenticeship initiative aims to equip unemployed and underemployed youth aged 16 to 35 years with structured, hands-on training and work readiness skills in the hotel and hospitality industry.
It is implemented in line with the National Apprenticeship Framework (2018) and the Employment Act (2006).
Special attention will be given to:

Women

Youth with disabilities
-
Refugees living in the targeted districts
Eligible districts include Fort Portal City, Kabarole, Kasese, Bunyangabu, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko, Kamwenge, Hoima City, Hoima District, Masindi, Kiryandongo, Kibaale, Kikuube, and Kagadi.
✅ Eligibility (100% from Rwenzori & Albertine Region)

Men: At least 30%, aged 16–30 years

Women: At least 50%, aged 16–30 years (20% allowed above 30 years)

People with Disabilities (PWDs): 20%, irrespective of gender

LC1 Letter of Recommendation: Required

Minimum of O’Level Certificate

National ID (for Nationals) or Refugee/Attestation Card (for Refugees)
